CLIMATE OF WASHINGTON

Washington has two climate zones. The area west of the Cascades has mild, humid, summer days and mild winter days. The temperature ranges from 46 degrees in the winter and 79 degrees in the summer. The average rainfall is 38.15 inches per year. Storms in Washington include rainstorms and snowstorms. Washington also can be subject to tsunamis as well as earthquakes because of its location.

Washington is on the pacific ocean. Washington has a variety of landforms over the entire state. Washington's landforms include the Olympia mountains, the Coast Range Puget Sound Lowlands, Cascade Range Columbia Plateau, Rocky Mountains in the Northeast and the southern pacific rainforests.
